The AEPC has been appointed as the lead agency for India International Textile Fair to be held in the national capital from February 2 to 4 next year. Tex Style India 2011 is expected to take the exhibition towards the level of Canton Fair in China, Texworld in France, Material World in Miami and New York, and TITAS in Taiwan.
In a presentation before Mr Maran, AEPC chairman Premal Udani said the event will bring the entire textile value chain exhibitions in one location at one time. The product coverage will include fibre, yarn, fabric, carpet, made-ups, handicrafts, handmade silk, fashion accessories, jute and woolen coir / durries / mats / rugs besides apparel and accessories.
The AEPC will have 220 booths of nine square metres each. A pilot committee of executive directors from all participating export promotion councils has been formed under the chairmanship of joint secretary for exports at the textile ministry V. Srinivas. The committee will finalise all related agencies for publicity, stall construction, security, housekeeping and active buyer promotion programmes like reverse buyer seller meets.
