Hollywood’s glamorous and yester year’s actor Marilyn Monroe is set to don fashion garment in India. Almost 50 years post her death; this beautiful actor’s images will be launched in the country by the license holder of her brand License India. Branded merchandise of the diva will flood the markets within the next 10 months.
License India operates as a catalyst for key licensing contracts in India and has recently inked a deal with US-based Bradford License which the international exclusive rights for Marilyn Monroe brand.
The Marilyn Monroe brand will be made use of in fashion garments, accessories and bags, said License India's director Ritu Marya. Goods will be mainly introduced for the premium fashion segment.
Currently the firm is looking for keen licensees in India so as to launch the merchandise. Marilyn Monroe is about one billion dollar brand in the United States and is a huge hit in European markets as well, said Ms Marya. A style icon in her prime time days, Monroe still influences the fashion world post her death on August 4, 1962.
Besides this beauty brand, License India is also working to bring in to the country Pepsi and 7UP merchandises. They are likely to be launched this year.
