The International Apparel Federation (IAF) will hold this year's World Apparel Convention in Hong Kong, marking a return to the territory for the first time in 13 years.
The event, which is the 26th annual convention organised by the IAF, is expected to attract nearly 300 delegates from across the apparel supply chain, including key industry executives from around the world. This year's focus will be on how retailer brands, the internet and green manufacturing are transforming the fashion business.
"It's a great opportunity for companies that have experienced decrease in sales in this competitive economic climate and need help identifying winning strategies and ideas for production, sourcing and distribution of fashion," said IAF secretary general Han Bekke.
Taking place from October 5 to 7, the convention will run in tandem with the long-standing Interstoff Asia Essential trade fair. "The location alone is of great importance for the international textile industry," said Mr Stephan Buurma, managing director for Messe Frankfurt Asia Holding, which is co-organising the event with the IAF.
"Hong Kong, the most effective gateway to Asia Pacific, is the perfect destination for apparel and textile industry," he said.
